The real casualties will be the projects that claimed self-custody while actually running centralized databases.

The two wolves are not compliance and crypto. They are the old brokerage business model and the new chain business model. The old model profits from payment for order flow, custody, and the spread of the market maker. The new model profits from commanding the infrastructure that users cannot easily replace. If those appear within six to twelve months, Robinhood Chain is a strategic bet worth tracking. If they do not, the whales have already eaten the promise and the market will move on. Perhaps the most honest reading of Kerbrat's metaphor is that the wolves represent velocity and gravity, code and compliance. I am not forecasting which one wins. I am forecasting a battle.
