Hyperlight is not a generic smart-contract platform. It is a dedicated L1 optimized for low-latency order matching and sub-second finality. It carved out a niche among professional traders and market makers who needed deterministic settlement without the congestion of general-purpose chains. The ecosystem is small but loyal: consistent volume, relatively low TVL compared to giants like Solana or Ethereum, but with a high ratio of real trading activity to passive liquidity mining.
